Step 2: We attempt service. Service includes up to 3 attempts at one address, made at different times of day.

Phoenix Process Server FAQ

Hands stacked together, Phoenix process server questions answered by Laveen Notary

How much does a process server cost in Phoenix?
Standard Service is $80 and includes up to 3 attempts at one address, with the first attempt within 5 business days. Rush Service is $125, with the first attempt within 1 business day. A single attempt is $50, posting is $80 when Arizona's rules allow it ($50 for bulk/volume clients), and each additional person at the same address is $25. Eviction service is $125. Every job includes photo and GPS proof and an affidavit of service. Call or text 602-657-2141 for a quote.

How fast can you serve papers in Phoenix?
Once we receive payment and documents, Standard Service gets a first attempt within 5 business days. Rush and same-day service are also available. See Pricing & Turnaround above for exact timelines.

What if the person doesn't answer the door?

Avoiding the door doesn't stop a court case. Arizona's rules also allow papers to be left at the person's home with an adult of suitable age who lives there. We make up to 3 attempts at different times of day. If the person still can't be served, our signed record of every attempt can help you ask the judge to approve another method, such as alternative service or, as a last resort, service by publication.

How do you serve court papers in Arizona?

Arizona's rules allow papers to be handed to the person, left at their home with an adult who lives there, or delivered to an agent authorized to accept them, such as a company's registered agent. Service must be made by a sheriff, a constable, a certified private process server like Laveen Notary, or someone the court appoints. In most cases, the people in the case can't serve the papers themselves. After service, we email you a signed affidavit of service as proof.

Can a process server leave papers at your door in Arizona?

Usually not. For most cases, papers have to be handed to the person or left with an adult who lives at the home. Posting papers on the door is allowed for eviction summons, together with certified mail, and when a judge orders it as alternative service. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do I get proof the papers were served?
Yes. We email you the proof of service (a signed affidavit of service), along with photo and GPS proof.

Are you certified to serve papers in Arizona?
Yes. Laveen Notary is an Arizona Certified Process Server and a member of the Arizona Process Servers Association.

Do you serve papers outside Phoenix?
Yes, throughout Maricopa County. For other parts of Arizona, call us to check.
